A snapshot of humanitarian and community development work delivered in Bangladesh, including disability support in Amtoil, masjid reconstruction, Islamic education through maktabs, and winter emergency relief.

Project Amtoil (Biswanath, Sylhet)

Amtoil village faces a severe humanitarian crisis, with an unusually high concentration of disability. The project supports safe accommodation, clean water, nutritious food, medical care, and rehabilitation.

3 Disabled-friendly houses built last year (1 ongoing). Total completed to date: 15.
6 Wheelchair-accessible water hubs installed last year (2 ongoing). Total hubs: 16 (15 Amtoil, 1 Chittagong).
150 Rehabilitation camp beneficiaries (with CRP). Assistive devices & wheelchairs provided to 77 people.
29 Cataract surgeries performed (with Tafida Foundation). Medical treatment provided to 350 people.
850 Food pack beneficiaries across 2 camps (including nutritious support for children & people with disabilities).
450 Blankets distributed to people with disabilities and their family members.

Darussunnah Masjid, Amtoil

The largest mosque in Amtoil village is being reconstructed and developed after decades without major renovation. Ground floor completion is planned before Ramadan (InshaAllah).

  • Wudu Khana (ablution area) planned.
  • First floor completion to include women’s prayer space.
  • Islamic education activities for women and children.

Amader Maktab Project

Strengthening Islamic education among Muslim children across Bangladesh by supporting and operating community-based maktabs.

8 Maktabs established in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Khulna & Rajshahi.
Free Breakfast Provided for maktab students to support learning and wellbeing.
Monthly Support Remuneration for Imams and teachers.
Kitab Distribution Islamic books supplied to students.

Winter Emergency Response

Blanket distribution across five locations in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts to support poor and vulnerable families, including people with disabilities, elderly individuals, and children.

1,500 Total blankets distributed.
5 Locations covered across Sylhet & Sunamganj.
Vulnerable Families Priority support for disabled, elderly, and children.
